Drama

"All the world is a stage and all the men and women merely players"- William Shakespeare

March 1 @ 9:00 am - 6:00 pm

The Drama event is a vibrant, exciting event dedicated to engaging performances of the spoken word. Whether you want to showcase your poetry skills, act out a new script or tell us about the things which interest you- this is the event for you!

As with all our events, you can enter on your own, as a duo or in a group. Categories are based on age and you can find further details of the categories, schedule for 2025 and rules on this page.

Prose Reading

This involves reading a piece of text (not from memory!) There are two categories - free choice or a set piece which can be found in the schedule-

Verse Speaking

Fancy reciting a poem? How about some song lyrics? Or even a Rap! This can include a performance of any kind of verse- as long as it is spoken not sung (if you fancy singing- head over to our music page!)

Acting

Want to be the next Daniel Radcliffe or Emma Watson? Perform a part of a published script, either on your own, in a pair or grab some friends and show us what a group of you can do

Sight Reading

An exciting challenge for all you avid readers! You have 2 minutes to review a text, then read it out loud. The texts chosen are in line with Key Stage levels, and this is a great opportunity to try something new

Public Speaking

Feel strongly about a particular topic? Or collect something interesting? Come and tell us all about it!
There are two categories- Show and Tell for our younger performers and Spoken Language for those of you over 11.

500/1000 Words

We know there are lots of budding authors out there and we want to be part of your creative journey. Depending on your age, submit a 500 or 1000 piece you have written and show off those amazing writing talents
