Music

"Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything"- Plato

March 1 @ 9:00 am - 7:00 pm

Discover what makes the Music portion of Colsterworth Festival so special. Whether you are just starting out on your musical journey or whether you are a seasoned pro we have a place for you. With categories to showcase your spectacular singing and incredible instruments, either on your own or as part of a bigger group, we have something for all budding musicians.

Judging is mostly done in age groups- so why not have a look at our schedule and see if there is something there for you

Instrumental

It takes dedication, skill and creativity to learn an instrument. We would love to see you showcase your talent. Play a classical or contemporary piece, on your own, in a duo or part of a group

Vocal

Who doesn't love singing songs from stage and screen! Whether you are the next Taylor Swift or Idina Menzel, we have a category for you. We welcome songs of your choice, including our increasingly popular Disney category, so why not Be Our Guest and sign up!

Multi Skills

An exciting category where you can get creative with friends and family! We have Partnership: 2 performers to play 2 different instruments, Repertoire: play 2 different pieces, Two Skills where you can show off your amazing talents on 2 different instruments and Family- where you can grab a family member and showcase your amazing gifts together

Beginner and Special Assistance

Just starting out but would like a chance to perform? Or perhaps you have some additional needs and feel a bit anxious. We have both a beginners (playing under 1 year) and beginners requiring special assistance (playing under 1 year) category which we would welcome you to join

Grade

Exactly as it suggests! This category is for people who are working towards or at a particular grade as identified by the current Associated Board, Trinity College, London College, Victoria College or Guildhall School of Music syllabus

Composition

Where would we be without our composers? An exciting opportunity to showcase your creativity and talent. We want to hear your original compositions which we ask you to perform on the day on an instrument of your choosing.
